Les authentificateurs de Google et Microsoft sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien \u00e9tablis, mais l’authentificateur Proton nouvellement publi\u00e9 peut en valoir la peine. Proton est l’entreprise derri\u00e8re Proton Pass, notre meilleur gestionnaire de mots de passe pour ceux qui priorisent la confidentialit\u00e9, ainsi que d’autres services comme Proton Mail et Proton VPN. Bien que Proton Pass dispose d’une fonction d’authentification \u00e0 deux facteurs int\u00e9gr\u00e9e (2FA) sur son niveau premium, n’importe qui peut utiliser Proton Authenticator sans frais, m\u00eame si vous comptez sur un service diff\u00e9rent pour la gestion des mots de passe. <\/p>\n

Comment Proton se compare \u00e0 d’autres applications d’authentificateur<\/h2>\n

Fonctionnellement, Proton Authenticator n’est pas si diff\u00e9rent des autres applications populaires comme Google Authenticator et Microsoft Authenticator ou des alternatives comme Duo et Authy. Vous pouvez ajouter manuellement les mots de passe ponctuels bas\u00e9s sur le temps (TOTPS) ou en scannant un code QR ainsi que pour importer tout ou partie de vos codes existants \u00e0 partir d’applications Authenticator qui offrent cette fonctionnalit\u00e9 (Google le fait, Microsoft ne le fait pas). Dans mes tests, il \u00e9tait facile de capturer des captures d’\u00e9cran et d’enregistrer les codes QR de Google Authenticator et de les t\u00e9l\u00e9charger de mes photos dans Proton Authenticator, qui a rapidement peupl\u00e9 tous mes codes.<\/p>\n

Pour plus de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, Proton Authenticator peut \u00eatre verrouill\u00e9 derri\u00e8re la biom\u00e9trie comme Face ID et masquer vos codes \u00e0 la vue (ce qui est utile si vous avez simplement besoin de copier et de coller sur le m\u00eame appareil). Les codes actualisent toutes les 30 secondes, et Proton vous montre \u00e0 la fois le TOTP actuel et celui qui remplira ensuite. Alors que la plupart des authentificateurs sont limit\u00e9s \u00e0 iOS et Android, Proton prend \u00e9galement en charge Windows, MacOS et Linux avec une synchronisation crypt\u00e9e entre les appareils. <\/p>\n

Compte tenu de la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 des violations de donn\u00e9es et de l’omnipr\u00e9sence des sch\u00e9mas de phishing qui visent \u00e0 compromettre vos donn\u00e9es, vous devriez avoir une authentification multi-facteurs (MFA) activ\u00e9e sur tout compte qui offre cette couche de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 suppl\u00e9mentaire. Comme je l’ai \u00e9crit, certaines m\u00e9thodes d’authentification – comme les codes SMS – sont toujours facilement compromises via des m\u00e9thodes de phishing comme des attaques adverses dans le milieu.
